Heyaaaaaa!!!

Hey everyone, I'm Branko Zikic, originally from Serbia but now proudly calling Stockholm, Sweden, my home sweet home. You'll usually find me burning the midnight oil, dealing cards and soaking in the electric atmosphere of the casino. But when the sun starts peeking over the horizon, I head home to kick back and relax with my two furry partners-in-crime, Cosmo and Hjortron.

Back in the day, I was all about the adrenaline rush of combat sports – MMA, aikido, you name it. Those gritty experiences taught me more than just how to throw a punch... they instilled in me a never-say-die attitude that I bring to everything I do, whether I'm managing the tables or tackling a coding challenge.

When I'm not hustling at the casino, I'm usually getting creative in Unity or Core. I love designing levels, so that's kind of my way of winding down. And of course, I'm a bona fide gaming geek – give me a good storyline or a competitive multiplayer match, and I'm in my element. Also, a huge astronomy nerd, so sometimes you can find me just gazing at the night sky... or a YouTube video! :)

On top of all that, I'm also diving headfirst into the world of game programming at Forsbergs Skola. I joined Forsbergs Skola three months after everyone else, with the requirement of having to catch up on 3 months on my own.
It's a wild ride, but I'm loving every minute of it. Who knows where this journey will take me next?

- My Story -

As I already mentioned, I'm originally from Serbia. Slowly getting used to Stockholm and the fact that I'm getting closer to my 30s. I grew up with my grandma in a small town in the middle of Serbia called Smederevska Palanka. From the Social and Linguistics gymnasium to the Faculty of Sciences, to moving to Sweden, moving back to Serbia, and going through the pandemic lockdowns, just to move back to Sweden. It's been a hell of a ride already. But now that I'm on a Game Development journey, it seems like it's just the beginning of a new start.

I've always had a passion for video games. I made my first game when I was 13. It was a scary maze game, just like the one where a person punches the screen out of fear! I was amazed at how a few lines of code and cubes can make a game. That amazement follows me to this day, when I finally have my chance to become what I always wanted to be...
a GAME DEVELOPER!

Now, as a student at Forsbergs Skola enrolled in the Game Programming program, I'm excited to write a new chapter in my game development story. Time at Forsbergs has been defined by meeting some of the most amazing people I've ever met. I feel so grateful and proud of sharing the same space with those people. Also, it has been defined by intensive learning experiences and hands-on projects, several of which can be explored in my portfolio.

With each line of code and every pixel crafted, I'm an inch closer to realizing my childhood ambition.
